The beloved Biblical story of Noah's Ark will once again come to life in Christ United Methodist Church's musical production of "Noye's Fludde,” presented March 14-16, 7:30pm each night, and 2pm on Saturday, March 16, in the church Sanctuary. This will be the eleventh time since 1977 that Christ Church has performed "Noyes Fludde," and many of the 120-plus cast members (including 116 ‘animals’ ranging in age from 5-75), have participated during multiple productions over the years.
Composed by Benjamin Britten in 1957, "Noye's Fludde" is a charming production that tells the familiar story of Noah's Ark, with a few humorous additions to the tale thrown in. Britten based the "Fludde" on the medieval Chester Miracle Plays written at the end of the sixteenth century, and it was written to be performed in church sanctuaries by congregations. The witty humor and clever animal costumes make "Fludde" a production to be enjoyed by audiences of all ages.
Admission is free but tickets are required. For tickets or more information about the production, go to the church website at www.christgreensboro.org/Flood or call 336-299-1571, ext 604. Christ United Methodist Church is located at 410 North Holden Road, Greensboro, NC 27410.
