Eight people have now been arrested and charged in connection with last weekend's shootings at a western North Carolina house party where a barrage of gunfire ended with one person dead and 11 others injured, authorities said.

A 20-year-old man was arrested Tuesday on an attempted murder charge in connection with a weekend shooting around a house party in North Carolina that led to the death of one person and injuries for 11 others, sheriff's deputies said.

Gunfire erupted around a house party in western North Carolina early Sunday, and one person was killed and 11 others were hurt, some with gunshot wounds and others with injuries from fleeing the shooting in a usually quiet residential neighborhood, sheriff's deputies said.

Montgomery has been arrested for failing to make restitution payments to the Bethesda Center for the Homeless. He was convicted of stealing from the organization in 2023.

According to The North Carolina Department of Transportation, the roadway reopened around 5 p.m. 

Lopez was killed by a Greensboro officer in November 2021.
