Japanese prosecutors raided the headquarters of advertising company Dentsu as the investigation into corruption related to the Tokyo Olympics widened. Dentsu helped land the 2020 Games for Tokyo.

Ukraine's Kalush Orchestra won the 2022 edition of the Eurovision Song Contest, held in Italy in May. Next year's contest will be the first ever in which viewers from non-participating countries can cast their vote.
