In the final scene of Succession, Kendall (Jeremy Strong) stares out at the Hudson River while his father's bodyguard looks on. In an improvised take during filming (which was not included in the episode) Strong climbed the barrier at the water's edge, as if to jump.

The narrow scope of the action in The Idol's debut reveals a story stuck in a claustrophobic bubble, offering bursts of nudity and sex to distract from how little is actually happening onscreen.
