Officials say the recall was prompted after a random sample tested positive for the organism listeria monocytogenes. No illnesses have been reported, the FDA says.
Officials are looking into four confirmed cases of the dangerous bacteria discovered in the sprays. Two deaths associated with the bacteria are being investigated.
A salmonella outbreak has affected more than 30 states. Federal health officials link it to onions grown in Chihuahua, Mexico, and distributed by ProSource Inc.
The loungers were sold in stores from January 2004 to September 2021. Retailers including Amazon, Pottery Barn Kids, Target and Walmart carried the product.
"Let's call it what it is: it's a partisan, Republican recall — backed by the [Republican National Committee], anti-mask and anti-vax extremists, and pro-Trump forces," Newsom said Monday.

The eggs were sold in nine states, according to the FDA. They are labeled under a number of brands, including Coburn Farms, Country Daybreak, the Food Lion store brand, Great Value and Sunshine Farms.
