The move is seen as an attempt to step back from the brink of war between the nuclear rivals. However, Pakistan's Prime Minister Imran Khan warned that the gesture should not be seen as "weakness."
"The blast was so powerful that one cannot recognize whether the [police] vehicle was a bus or a truck. Just pieces of mangled steel," a police force spokesman said of the attack on Thursday.
