Haiti's once-flourishing coffee trade has been badly battered. The latest threat: climate change. Locals who still rely on coffee for their livelihood must learn to grow it in changing climes.

For many years, University of North Carolina School of the Arts Social Studies teacher, Jonathan Milner, has led students to remote parts of the world. They have traveled to places like Nairobi, Kenya where he and his students fed AIDS orphaned infants and children. 

Milner's most recent trip was a result of his previous work with Partners in Health, a medical advocacy group out of Boston. Last December Jonathan Milner, his wife Cary Clifford, and their nine year old son, Owen, traveled to Port-au-Prince, Haiti.

Three years after an earthquake destroyed much of Haiti's capital, it's clear that only a fraction of the $9 billion pledged in international relief reached the country. Most of what did arrive went to short-term relief, instead of rebuilding people's homes.

Three years ago, a massive earthquake destroyed much of Haiti's capital city. Aid agencies from around the world pledged billions of dollars to help Haiti rebuild. But since then, many of the grand plans have fizzled, and some 350,000 Haitians still live in makeshift camps.
