Former Minneapolis police officers Tou Thao, Thomas Lane and J. Alexander Kueng are charged with failing to provide medical care to George Floyd as Derek Chauvin knelt on his neck.

J. Alexander Kueng, Thomas Lane and Tou Thao stand accused of violating Floyd's civil rights by failing to provide him with medical aid during the May 2020 arrest in Minneapolis.

Micah Beals has been charged with criminal mischief in connection with the Oct. 3 incident. Under a stage name, he's played minor roles in television shows like "Parks and Recreation" and "CSI: NY."

After the murder of George Floyd, Minneapolis leaders pledged to dismantle the city's police department. Residents disagree on what that should look like.

"It's important to acknowledge how far we've come. Those who raised their voices to demand justice for George Floyd need to know that their activism made a difference," the family said.

Chauvin "treated Mr. Floyd without respect and denied him the dignity owed to all human beings," wrote Judge Peter Cahill, adding an additional 10 years to Chauvin's presumptive sentence.

She said in a victim-impact video played in court that when she is someday reunited with her father, she wants to "play with him, have fun. Go on a plane ride. And that's it."

Committee officials who give out the prestigious prize in journalism and the arts said Frazier's recording highlighted "the crucial role of citizens in journalists' quests for truth and justice."
