Aircraft maintence company HAECO says it will hire up to 500 additional employees at its facility in Greensboro.

The announcement comes just months after the company finished construction on a new building.

The $60 million hangar is already being used to repair and maintain passenger aircraft, and about 150 new workers have been brought on to help.

It's the company's fifth and largest hangar at Piedmont Triad International Airport, capable of housing larger planes like the Boeing 777.

Once it's fully operational, HAECO executives say they intend on hiring an additional 400 to 500 aircraft technicians to staff the facility.

The hangar project was first announced in 2016 and completed at the end of 2017.

According to the North Carolina Department of Commerce, HAECO is among the largest employers in Guilford County.
