Guilford County is seeking community input on how best to allocate federal coronavirus relief funding.

Guilford County has opened a Growth & Recovery Request for Ideas (RFI) process for funding received through the American Rescue Plan Act (ARPA).

According to a news release, the County has been awarded $104 million from the federal government for its pandemic response.

The RFI process is designed to build on community engagement that has been ongoing since September 2021.

The County is now accepting idea submissions from non-profit and other tax-exempt organizations, as well as municipal corporations and other public entities.

Applicants are being asked to tailor their requests within guidelines established by the U.S Department of Treasury.

Areas of focus include bolstering the economy, supporting public health initiatives, providing premium pay for essential workers, and investing in infrastructure.

The County will host an informational virtual workshop on February 22.  Submissions will be accepted through mid-March.
