Oak View Group has emerged as a candidate to manage the Greensboro Coliseum Complex.

The private company recently presented its financial proposal and transition plan to the City Council. The Greensboro Coliseum Complex encompasses 10 venues including the Steven Tanger Center for the Performing Arts. Last year, the city started accepting proposals to transition to new leadership.

Oak View Group, or OVG360, is a full-service venue management company with headquarters in Denver, Colorado. President of Venue Management Greg O'Dell said at a recent City Council work session that Greensboro is one of the premier markets in the country, and applauded the outgoing leadership.

"It's not often the case for us — when we come to a market, usually we're coming because of significant challenges," O'Dell said. "So, we think our duty and our responsibility and our opportunity is actually to elevate and amplify the great work that they've done."

According to the presentation, the company would invest $2 million into the Coliseum Complex. OVG360 says staff would also be offered salary and benefits equal to or greater than what they currently have.

The City Council is expected to vote on whether or not to approve the company for management at its next meeting in March.
