During its Sense Of Place trip to Minneapolis, World Cafe was lucky to get a preview of an unnamed new album by The Jayhawks, which is due out on the band's own Sham Records in the spring. R.E.M.'s Peter Buck produced the album, which the group recorded at Tucker Martine's studio in Portland, Ore.

Here, watch the Twin Cities alt-country band perform one of those brand-new songs, "Quiet Corners And Empty Spaces," in a session recorded at Humans Win Studio in Minneapolis.
