UNCG's Paul Mason, the man in the middle of the PR firings last fall, is leaving his position next week as an associate vice chancellor for the university. As WFDD's Michael Burke reports, Mason has accepted a position at another organization, according to a statement Tuesday from Chancellor Linda Brady.

Mason, who oversaw the marketing and communications department for the University of North Carolina Greensboro has been accused of creating a hostile work environment in his department.

According to the Greensboro News and Record, Mason fired three employees last fall and accused them of stealing company time. The employees also were arrested — and one was placed in a jail cell temporarily — though felony charges against the employees were later dropped.

Brady's statement also noted that Jan Zink, Vice Chancellor for University Advancement will supervise University Relations until they find a replacement.
