Today, UNCG Theatre Professor Jim Wren shares his musical take on Shakespeare. Twelfth Night is part of UNC Greensboro's university-wide series, “Globe and the Cosmos” celebrating 450 years of Shakespeare and Galileo. Wren says his design concept reflects the rollercoaster themes in the play: love, identity and gender. You can hear them in a dramatic reading included in today's show. Viola disguised as a man named Cesario realizes that Olivia has fallen for her. UNCG student actor Natalie Brouwer is Viola, and Lee Wilson is Malvolio, Olivia's pompous steward bearing a ring.

Shakespeare's Twelfth Night opens tonight at 7:30 pm with a Pay What You Can Preview. The production continues through the 10th with evening shows at 7:30 pm and 8:00 pm, and weekend matinees at 2:00 pm.
