The new film, Keep The Change, is an offbeat romantic comedy about two people looking for love in New York City.

Sound familiar?

Well, this movie does something fresh with the genre. It's about characters with autism, and the filmmakers cast actors and non-actors who are on the autism spectrum in many of the roles.

The Tribeca Film Festival described it as a “world full of vibrant characters often under-represented in cinema.”

Producer Summer Shelton is based in Winston-Salem. She spoke to WFDD's Eddie Garcia about the movie.

Keep The Change is opening at a/perture Cinema this weekend, and Shelton will be at screenings on Friday and Saturday nights for a Q & A.
