Andy Tennille will share photos and stories of his seven years working with Tom Petty & The Heartbreakers and his nearly two decades in music journalism at the Southeastern Center for Contemporary Art.

His talk at SECCA is called Coming Down Is The Hardest Thing. Musician MC Taylor, from the band Hiss Golden Messenger, will host.

Tennille worked as Petty's tour photographer and documentarian for seven years. He says he only recently looked at photos from the band's last tour, taking some time after Petty's death.

“The best tour they ever had musically in a lot of people's opinion," says Tennille. "Those guys were elated. I mean they were in a really, really great space - all of us were. To go back and look at those images again was really cool. It kind of brought it all the way back around for me, given what had happened.”

The talk starts at 6:30 p.m. on Thursday, April 12, in the McChesney Scott Dunn Auditorium at SECCA.
