Franz Joseph Haydn's oratorio "The Creation" was a hugely famous in 18th century Vienna where it was performed dozens of times during the composer's lifetime.

It was also played more than 40 times outside of Vienna during Haydn's life, throughout England, Europe, Russia and the United States. "The Creation" is still a big hit nearly 220 years later and this week it comes to the Triad courtesy of the Greensboro Symphony's Masterworks performance series conducted by Dmitry Sitkovetsky. They'll be joined by Bel Canto Company, and three outstanding guest soloists: bass-baritone Eric Downs, soprano Brittany Robinson and acclaimed tenor Andrew Bidlack.

On Thursday night, February 26th at 7:30 the guest soloists bass-baritone Eric Downs, soprano Brittany Robinson, and tenor Andrew Bidlack join the Greensboro Symphony and Bel Canto Company in a performance of Haydn's monumental oratorio "The Creation". That performance will be in Aycock Auditorium followed with an 8:00 PM concert on Saturday night in Dana Auditorium.
