Reading Simran Sethi's new book will change the way you eat and drink. Sethi's words will have you slowing down to experience your plate and cup and the things they carry with new focus and interest; she shows readers that pleasure is in front of us every day.

Sethi's new book is Bread, Wine, Chocolate: The Slow Loss of Foods We Love. In it, she journeys to six continents to explore the history and cultural importance of tastes, all the while educating readers on the loss of agricultual biodiversity threatening our food supply.

Sethi is obviously good at what she does. She's been named the environmental "messenger" by Vanity Fair and a top 10 eco-hero of the planet by the U.K's Independent.

Next month Simran will be reading at Scuppernong Books on December 19th. Bethany spoke to Simran by phone.

Tune in to Triad Arts Weekend this Friday at 1pm for more of Bethany's conversation with Simran.
