Funeral services for Travis Page – the Winston-Salem man who recently died in police custody – was interrupted Friday after a disagreement between family members.

Officers were called to the Clark S. Brown Funeral Home around 1:35 p.m. after receiving reports of a “disturbance.”

According to the police report, some family members were upset that others were speaking to local media assembled at the funeral home, leading to an argument.

Police eventually left the funeral home without any arrests or charges pressed. Some family members reportedly left, as well.

The 31-year-old Page became unresponsive and subsequently died after police handcuffed him Dec. 9th.

Some city leaders and advocates have called for Winston-Salem police to release body camera footage to better understand what happened during the arrest.
