Students at North Carolina A&T University are not happy with the redrawn congressional districts. The new district line runs right through the middle of the Greensboro campus.

The old plan had the school in the 12th District represented by U.S. Rep. Alma Adams. Adams is a retired college professor and N.C. A&T graduate.

The new plan was drawn in an attempt to comply with a federal court order and splits the campus between the 6th District and the 13th District.

Nine A&T dorms are in the 6th District, now represented by Greensboro Republican Mark Walker. Six dorms are in the 13th District, now represented by Raleigh Republican George Holding.

Students at the historically black college tell the News & Record of Greensboro the new plan will dilute their voting impact. They also believe it will complicate federal funding for the school's agriculture and science programs.
