Greensboro Schedules School Relocation Tours

The Guilford County School district is giving parents and students more information about where they will be attending school next week. This comes after a tornado ravaged eastern Greensboro.

The district is offering open house tours for students that will be relocating. Erwin Montessori, Peeler and Hampton elementary schools sustained damage and are currently closed.

The tours take place this Sunday, and transportation will be provided for those in need. The new ‘receiving' schools are Bluford, Alamance, and Reedy Fork Elementary.

Detailed information on the open houses is available on Guilford County Schools' website.

Vice President Pence Visiting Greensboro

Vice President Mike Pence will visit the Triad Friday for a fundraiser in Greensboro.

Pence will reportedly be attending a fundraiser at the Greensboro Country Club in support of Rep. Mark Walker.

Walker is the chair of the conservative Republican Study Committee, a job the vice president once held.

Activists say they'll gather near the country club to protest Pence's visit.

They say they're organizing because Pence is visiting Greensboro for the fundraiser, but not to visit the parts of town devastated by Sunday's tornado. They're also protesting some of Walker's votes.

Pence is scheduled to attend a separate event in Charlotte later in the day focused on tax reform.
