The Steven Tanger Center for the Performing Arts has announced its grand opening performance headliner.

Singer-songwriter Josh Groban will christen Greensboro's newest performing arts center with a concert on Friday, March 20th.

Groban's performance will launch the first season of events at the Tanger Center, a venue with over 3,000 seats, constructed at a cost of nearly $93 million.

It will be a busy opening month for the Tanger Center, featuring appearances by comedian Jay Leno, actress Sally Field, and the Greensboro Symphony Orchestra.

The center will be home to a series of touring Broadway productions and concerts, as well as the Guilford College Bryan Series of guest speakers.

Much of the funding for construction of the complex came from non-taxpayer sources including private donors, corporate sponsors, and advance ticket sales.

Pre-sale tickets for Josh Groban will be available Wednesday, with general public ticket sales beginning next Monday.
