Belle and Sebastian have written and released an unofficial theme for the Rio Olympic Games. "Belle and Sebastian dig the Olympics, love the Olympic ideal, love that the world gets together for a big 'sports day' once every four years," frontman Stuart Murdoch explains in a statement. "We can't be part of it, though we'd like to be. So we recorded a piece of music with Rio in mind, specifically the Track and Field."

Titled "Olympic Village, 6AM," the cheerful, buoyant instrumental track — complete with crisp guitar riff, heartwarming melodica, organ motifs and brassy fanfare — captures the excitement and energy of waking up early, eager to tackle the day. The anthem is tailor-made for a heroic, emotional sports montage — as demonstrated by the accompanying video, a "One Shining Moment"-esque supercut of vintage training footage and iconic Olympic track and field scenes.

If, after watching and listening to "Olympic Village, 6AM," you're not pumped up and ready to compete (or at least to plop yourself on your couch to watch other people compete), then I don't know what to tell you.
