The final section of the Greensboro Urban Loop is set to open Monday. The new section runs between North Elm Street and U.S. 29.

The North Carolina Department of Transportation will hold a ceremony marking the occasion. Speakers include Transportation Secretary Eric Boyette, Greensboro Mayor Nancy Vaughan, as well as North Carolina Senators Gladys Robinson and Phil Berger among others.

With the 16.5-mile Greensboro Urban Loop project finished, it marks the completion of a 49-mile loop around the city.
