High Point University is taking Bill Cosby's name off of its board of advisors as decades-old allegations of sexual misconduct have become increasingly public.

"Bill Cosby spoke at the 2007 graduation ceremony based on his numerous professional accomplishments," says Pam Haynes, the university's director of media relations. "In the best interest of all parties, we are removing his name from our board of advisors until all information on this matter is available."

The university announced in July that Cosby had joined the board.

The 77-year-old Cosby has denied the sexual assault allegations.
