In Forsyth County, a poll worker at a voting site has been accused of handing out campaign literature.

Former Republican candidate for the North Carolina legislature Kris McCann says he was voting when he saw a poll worker with “Democratic information" handing someone a flyer at a voting station.

The Forsyth County Board of Elections says they cannot substantiate whether it was Democratic materials or not. But, they did vote on Tuesday to investigate McCann's complaint about the worker at the Southside Library early-voting site.

Elections Director Tim Tsujii says they've alerted all poll workers to the seriousness of this matter.

“So we've sent out instructional documentation to all workers reminding them of the importance to remain fair and impartial while serving at the polling places during early voting," says Tsujii. "And to not disperse any campaign literature to any voters."

According to Tsujii, the woman in question is still working at the site.
