It's always odd to see Cass McCombs in the flesh. The songwriter isn't exactly a hermit, having toured extensively over the past year, but he has developed an almost mythic reputation over the course of his nine albums. In August, "Opposite House," the lead single from his latest album, Mangy Love, got stretched out to almost eight minutes at the Pickathon Festival in Oregon.
