SALISBURY, N.C. (AP) - A Salisbury woman has been arrested and accused of scamming a Davidson County woman out of nearly $24,000 for a proposed movie about veterans.

Rowan County sheriff's deputies have charged 55-year-old Sue Lee Roberson with felony obtaining property by false pretenses. Roberson is scheduled to be in court Friday. It was not clear if she has an attorney.

The owner of a nonprofit that trains service dogs for veterans said she met with Roberson in December about funding needed to film a movie about veterans. The victim said Roberson told her one person was putting up $75,000 and she needed another $25,000 to complete the film.

The victim said she was told she would get her money back and contacted authorities when she did not get the money.
