Fall foliage was on full display over the weekend drawing thousands of eager leaf watchers to the High Country.
Mid-October usually means the peak fall color season in the North Carolina mountains. But so far, the trees along the Blue Ridge Parkway are still mostly green.
The cool weather has led some trees to get an early start on their annual color conversion.
