Greensboro Mayor Nancy Vaughan touted the city’s economic achievements in her first-ever “State of the City” address Thursday.

Vaughan highlighted investments by companies including Procter & Gamble, LT Apparel Group, and RPM Wood Finishes Group. All three have announced plans to expand or create new operations in Greensboro.

“If this snapshot is any indication of our economic development forecast, I feel confident saying that the state of our city is very strong," Vaughan said. "In fact, with such a record number of commitments in 2022, it seemed logical to coin the term Greensbooming.”

The event featured a roundtable discussion with executives from Toyota and Boom Supersonic, companies that have also announced major investments in the Greensboro area.

This was the mayor’s first time delivering a State of the City address. Vaughan has been in office since 2013.
