Forsyth County Community Collaborative Holds Public Forum

A group of Forsyth County community partners is teaming up for a public discussion about the area's future.

It's called The State of Our Collective Impact. It was put together by Age-Friendly Forsyth, Forsyth Futures, Imagine Forsyth, and The Forsyth Promise. They're collaborating with over 50 local organizations on topics ranging from health and education to wellness and aging.

The event offers the public a chance to share and discuss perspectives on these big issues via small, guided table discussions. The plan is to then take the public's feedback and make community-guided decisions.

Tyler Sparks is with Forsyth Futures. He says the groups involved have shared community values.

“Those values include a perspective of community equity," says Sparks. "So, understanding that when we come up with solutions to improve community outcomes, they need to be solutions for everyone in the community, not just a certain group here or there. We really try to be equitable in what we bring forward. And we're trying to be equitable in how we go about having these conversations as well.”

The event is being held at Forsyth Technical Community College, on Thursday, December 6, starting at 5:00 p.m.
