Due to an increase in RSV, or respiratory syncytial virus, the Cone Health system announced new masking requirements and visitor restrictions at some of its locations Tuesday.

Starting Wednesday, November 15, visitors in areas that care for infants and children at Alamance Regional Medical Center and The Moses H. Cone Memorial Hospital will be required to wear masks.

Children 12 and under will not be allowed to visit most labor and delivery units, neonatal intensive units and special care units. More details can be found here

According to Cone Health, the percentage of kids testing positive for RSV at their facilities has nearly doubled in the past month.
