Two former North Carolina correction officers have been indicted.  This is part of the investigation into last year's kidnapping of the father of a Wake County prosecutor.

U.S. Attorney Thomas Walker said Monday that 31-year-old Gregory Gouldman and 29-year-old Jason Dean were each charged with extortion. Dean was also charged with lying to the FBI and a federal grand jury.

Walker says the men were indicted as part of an investigation into the kidnapping directed by an inmate with an illegal cell phone. The man was rescued by the FBI.

Gouldman is accused of smuggling contraband into several inmates, including marijuana and phones in exchange for money.  Dean is also accused of taking money and a piece of jewelry from inmates.
