Latino fair Without Borders is coming up this weekend. The event is organized by a local church in conjunction with many local organizations. The fair will provide free of charge services and activities for anyone in Winston-Salem.

Feria Latina Sin Fronteras will open its doors to the public without COVID restrictions for the first time in the past couple of years. The fair will have free health screenings and consultations, soccer matches, a bus with books, and local food vendors selling carne asada and pupusas.

Pastor Daniel Sostaita with Iglesia Cristiana Sin Fronteras is the event organizer. He says the church sees a need in the community.

"The beauty of this is that the church opens the door for everyone in the community," says Sostaita. "In the event there will be people from other churches, people who don’t even go to church, neighbors, and it’s a day where people say 'wow, I didn’t know this existed.' They’ll even meet new people that can offer them new resources."

Novant Health and Forsyth County Public Library are taking part in the fair, which takes place from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday. Sostaita says that there are usually hundreds of people in attendance, and even more are expected this year.
