The Guilford Green LGBTQ Center will be getting a new home in the heart of downtown Greensboro this fall.

Executive Director of the Guilford Green Foundation, Jennifer Ruppe, says they have over 100 people coming through every month, seeking resources and programming like Gay & Gray — a group providing social and educational opportunities for LGBTQ community members 55 and older.

The Center has outgrown its current space though and announced they'll move to Greene Street this October. The new location will have multiple meeting spaces and be able to accommodate groups of up to 50.

"We're very grateful for the space that we have now, and it's really helped us grow, but we're kind of tucked away and hard to find," says Ruppe. "And we want to be more visible, and we want to be more rooted in downtown and all of the growth that continues to happen.”

Guilford Green Foundation was established in 1996 by a group of friends in response to the HIV/AIDS epidemic. Today, Ruppe says supporting youth is one of the foundation's most important missions, especially as young people are coming out earlier than in the past.
