The IRC changed to a 24/7 model to address the rapidly increasing number of people without housing. It has added unarmed security, installed outside lighting and is launching a digitized check-in for guests.

A month after former Greensboro City Manager Taiwo Jaiyeoba abruptly resigned, the city spent hundreds of thousands of dollars to settle “claims of unwanted touching” made against him by one of his direct reports.

The city council is considering approving up to six months of the requested funding from the IRC to help it address safety concerns before providing additional money.
