Greensboro and Winston-Salem are among the best cities in the U.S. for pet owners. That’s according to a new study from Forbes magazine.

The study evaluated 91 cities in the U.S. using metrics in four key categories: both dog and cat veterinary costs, vet access, and pet-friendly spaces.

Three North Carolina cities ranked in the top 20, with Greensboro coming in 11th and Winston-Salem snagging the 12th spot. Raleigh ranked highest among North Carolina cities though, taking second place overall.

All three cities scored high in the pet-friendly spaces category. The data shows over 85% of apartments in Greensboro, Winston-Salem, and Raleigh are considered pet-friendly.

Of the three, Winston-Salem ranked lowest when it comes to access to veterinary care, with about five vets per 10,000 pets in the city. Raleigh has nearly double that number, according to the study.

Tucson, Arizona, took the top-ranked spot overall.
