In Greensboro, "Elm Street Stroll" transforms a section of the city into a pedestrian-friendly zone. The initiative lets restaurants and retailers extend their services into the street on the first weekend of each month.

It’s a collaboration between the City of Greensboro, Downtown Greensboro, Inc. and the city’s parks and recreation department. The event was designed to foster more community engagement and enhance public spaces with local artists and performers. By closing downtown streets to vehicles, organizers hope people connect in new ways.

Attendees are encouraged to use the free Hopper Trolley, which runs throughout downtown Greensboro.

The upcoming "Elm Street Stroll" takes place on the 300 block of South Elm Street from Friday, June 6 at 2:00 p.m. through Sunday, June 8 at 8:00 a.m.
