Pharmaceutical company Cambrex announced the completion of a $38 million expansion at its facility in High Point on Monday.

The global corporation provides drug products and analytical services. The buildout doubles the manufacturing capacity at its small molecule active pharmaceutical ingredient facility. Some of the additions include two new clinical manufacturing suites.

Cambrex High Point Vice President and General Manager Dan Bowles said the expansion was made possible with the support of state leadership and economic development programs.

The expansion is expected to bring more than 70 new jobs to the area.
