The Greensboro Chamber of Commerce is accepting applications for its minority business accelerator program.

The program, called Scale to Excel, aims to provide executive education and support for leaders of minority-owned businesses. The goal is to increase growth and job creation among the selected companies.

The initiative incorporates a curriculum known as StreetWise 'MBA,' which officials say resulted in a revenue growth rate of 36 percent for participants nationally. Dr. Channelle James, a faculty member at University of North Carolina at Greensboro, is the local program’s instructor.

Two cohorts have cycled through Scale to Excel so far. CEOs and majority owners of ethnic minority-owned small businesses are eligible to apply to be a part of the third.

An information session will be held virtually on January 10. Applications are due on January 22.
