New Weekend Line-up

Starting August 16th, WFDD is making some changes to our weekend lineup. We’re adding new shows and shifting a few familiar favorites to new times. Take a look at what’s new and when to tune in.

Your weekend listening just got an upgrade.

New Shows:

This isn’t your average science show. Unexpected Elements takes you on a surprising journey across the globe, digging into the strange, the fascinating, and the deeply human side of science. From the story of Afronauts to the mysteries of animal lifespans — and even why we argue — each episode uncovers connections you didn’t see coming. Curious minds welcome.
If you love language, this show is your happy place. Each week, author Martha Barnette and linguist Grant Barrett take listener calls and dive into the quirky, fascinating, and heartfelt stories behind the words we use every day. From regional sayings to family expressions, slang to etymology — A Way with Words is smart, funny, and full of aha moments for anyone who’s ever been curious about how language connects us.
Shake up your weekend with this weekly hi-fi highball of vintage cool. Retro Cocktail Hour serves a smooth mix of bachelor pad music, exotica, spy jazz, and offbeat pop from the ‘50s, ‘60s, and ‘70s — plus a splash of modern lounge revival. It’s the perfect soundtrack for your tiki dreams, martini nights, or anytime you want to slip into a more stylish era.
