There are about 2300 students in Winston-Salem/Forsyth County Schools who still need their state-required immunizations.
At a Board of Education meeting on Tuesday, Superintendent Tricia McManus said the deadline for that is Sept. 27.
“The law states that if we do not have our students immunized by then, this group of 2300, that they are not supposed to be in school after that point," McManus said. "So we are working very hard on this. If parents have gotten a lot of messages out there, it's because we really, we really need this to happen.”
She says immunization clinics will be held at Wiley Magnet Middle School and R.J. Reynolds High School this coming Tuesday. Clinics will also be offered at Walkertown middle and high schools, and East Forsyth High School next Thursday.
