A bank machine assembly plant in Greensboro has announced plans to close, and over 100 jobs will go with it.

Diebold Nixdorf, which makes and services automated teller machines, plans to close the operation by 2020. They'll move the plant closer to their national headquarters in Ohio.

An estimated 122 jobs will be lost in the process. Employees of the plant, located near Piedmont Triad International Airport, just learned of the impending layoffs.

According to the News and Record, Greensboro Mayor Nancy Vaughan received what's called a  "warning letter" notifying her of the upcoming closure.

Diebold Nixdorf says this is a business decision and has nothing to do with the quality of work at the plant. They also say that terminations will unfold on a "rolling basis" starting in November, and workers will receive some type of severance payment.
