Greensboro City Councilman Jamal Fox says he won't run again for a council seat in November. Fox represents District 2 in Northeast Greensboro.

In a Facebook post, he thanked his constituents for the opportunity to serve them and said he was proud of the work he's been involved with in the city during his term.

Fox didn't say why he decided not to run again. But in his social media post, he says "I will be supporting a candidate in the very near future who I believe will and can keep us on the right path to greater opportunities."

Fox studied political science at North Carolina A&T State University.

The News and Record reports that at 25, he became the youngest person ever elected to Greensboro City Council when he edged out a two-term incumbent in 2013.
