Winston-Salem's long-running celebration of film has new leadership. Rob Davis officially takes the helm of the RiverRun International Film Festival Monday.

Rob Davis is no stranger to the film industry. He's worked extensively with the Fort Lauderdale International Film Festival and taught motion picture industry studies for over a decade in Florida.

But after spending the last five years in public media, he says he wanted to work with film on a day-to-day basis again.

Davis' goals for RiverRun include building on the current success of the festival, increasing regional and global visibility, and expanding programming.

“I hope that we can enhance our year-round events," Davis says. "We hope to increase our presence in the community with maybe a few more special events or screenings, that sort of thing.”

Davis joins the staff after former Executive Director Andrew Rogers accepted a position with the Denver Film Society. The 2017 RiverRun International Film Festival will run March 30 – April 9.
