Winston-Salem/Forsyth County Schools is forming a parent and guardian advisory council

Winston-Salem/Forsyth County Schools is seeking volunteers for an advisory group that will be made up of parents and guardians in the district.

It’s called the Superintendent’s Parent and Guardian Advisory Council.

WS/FCS Superintendent Tricia McManus said she is forming the group in conjunction with the Board of Education.

“This diverse group representing all parts of our city and county will meet quarterly to discuss issues that impact our students and allow you to participate in the decision-making process," McManus said. "Parents and guardian voice is critical to achieving our vision of becoming the best place for our students to learn.”

The district is looking for 50 individuals to serve for one year beginning mid-May. A new council will be selected each school year.

The application surveys are available online in English and Spanish, and open through April 14.
