Toyota Tsusho pays nearly $14M for Winston-Salem property

The sale of the nearly 9-acre property to Toyota Tsusho was completed Tuesday, according to a filing by the Forsyth County Register of Deeds. The deal could connect Winston-Salem to the Toyota Battery Manufacturing North Carolina plant in Liberty.

That $14 billion investment is expected to bring more than 5,000 jobs to the state.

Toyota Tsusho's parent company is a 10% shareholder in the plant, which is estimated to begin production of batteries for electric vehicles in 2025.

The company was not immediately available for comment on its plans for the recently acquired property.
