State officials are seeking feedback on their disaster recovery plans.

The state Office of Recovery and Resiliency is asking for comment on proposed changes to plans outlining the use of federal funds in areas affected by Hurricanes Matthew and Florence.

Hurricane Matthew struck the state in October of 2016, with Florence following nearly two years later.

In a press release, the office says the changes are meant to expand programs to help more North Carolinians access disaster relief resources in the future. The plan amendments include allocating more money to the Homeowner Recovery Program and the Affordable Housing Development Fund.

The feedback period opened on December 9 and will run into January. Comments can be submitted via email to publiccomments@rebuild.nc.gov or by mail at NCORR Public Comments, P.O. Box 110465, Durham, NC 27709.
