The Cone Health MedCenter for Women is designed to be a convenient alternative to traditional health care options, combining a variety of services in one location.

The new two-story, 30,000 square-foot medical office building opened on Monday on Third Street in Greensboro.

The center offers a host of gynecological and obstetric services, including prenatal and maternal care, mammography, physical therapy, and an onsite lab. In addition, officials stress that the center can address non-medical issues such as nutrition, which can directly impact mothers and newborns.

Cone officials say in a news release that the variety of support services the center offers will translate to increased health care access for women.

Chief Operating Officer Mary Jo Cagle says that besides offering convenience, the MedCenter aims to address health disparities in the community regardless of the patient's insurance status.

Cone Health also operates the larger Women's & Children's Center adjacent to Moses Cone Hospital.
