Greensboro’s Parks and Recreation Department is now accepting applications for a youth leadership program.

The program is open to rising high school sophomores, juniors and seniors looking to develop skills to make a difference in their community.

Throughout the upcoming school year, students will participate in six sessions focused on issues impacting Greensboro and Guilford County. Previous topics have included health, education and the environment.

The sessions take place during the school day at a Parks and Recreation facility.

The participants will also complete a small group project and spend time volunteering.

Applications are open now through September 29. More information about the program is available on the city’s website.
